These asthma associations are mostly groups who come together with the same interest- asthma. Many of them primarily want to provide more ways of caring for people with asthma.

Some of them have websites that serve as a great resource for asthmatic patients as well as doctors and practitioners in the area of asthma and other allergic diseases.

They provide completely free information on asthma, allergic diseases and go a step further to provide all the information on their treatment.

Anyone with asthma or interested in asthma can join these asthma associations. When joined as a member, you will enjoy special benefits available to only members.

3 to disseminate pertinent knowledge among professionals and lay public;

4 to promote and encourage research in allergy and related disciplines; and

Asthma and Respiratory Definitions & Terms:

  • Bronchus -- A bronchus (bronchial tube) is any of the larger air passages that connect the trachea (windpipe) to the lungs. The plural form of bronchus is bronchi or bronchial tubes.

  • Ipatropium bromide -- Sold under the Atrovent name, it is a longer-acting, short-term bronchodilator than the more commonly used albuterol. Ipatropium bromide is not as fact-acting, however, and is generally not used in back-to-back treatments the way albuterol can be. A common use (especially in an hospital or ER/critical care setting)
