Bronchial asthma can also be explained as an allergic reaction that victims experience that is accompanied with breathing difficulties and wheezing.

  • What happens during a bronchial asthma is that the smooth muscles wrapped around the airways of victims spasm and this causes them to narrow. When this happens, it results in the production of mucus as the airways become irritated.

  • Most bronchial asthma attacks are caused by hyper-sensitivity of the victims to air-borne particles or allergies to certain foods. That is why most experts say bronchial asthma is also known as intrinsic asthma.

  • Bronchial asthma is one of the categories of asthma such as nocturnal asthma, exercise induced asthma, occupational asthma, seasonal asthma, etc.

  • One of the ways of preventing bronchial asthma is to keep your home free of dust mites. These are tiny kinds of insects that live in your mattresses, beddings, upholstery furniture, etc.

As insignificant as they may seem, avoiding the things that can cause an attack just makes good sense. One of the most common triggers are actually in your bed. We know that dirt and dust are mostly human skin cells. In bed, these are scraped off through abrasion while we move about when sleeping. There's also another possible asthmatic trigger in bedding and that's feathers.

One of the ways of getting keeping bedding in safer condition is to regularly wash the sheets and blankets. Removing the feather down comforters and pillows would also be a good idea. Try to find hypo-allergenic pillows. These are made with materials that are better for anyone suffering from this bronchial illness.

Also, remember to always use pillow covers and sheets on your mattresses. You can go a step further to get someone to always vacuum your mattresses for you and your pillows, carpets, sofas, and even your curtains and your covers.

Doing this can help limit the asthmatic attacks brought on by your bedding. Asthma Bronchitis is a chronic disease and making it easier to live with can only help.

It couldn't hurt!
