Bronchial Tubes | |||
|
A Bronchial Tubes are air Plumbing Pipes for Your Body There are miles and miles of organic tubes and lines inside our bodies. The bronchial tubes are very similar to pipes that transfer air from outside into our bodies to the pulmonary system or lungs. Although your lungs may have an expandable capacity, they are dependant on the air reaching the lungs through the rest of the lower respiratory tract.
It's those other parts of the piping and transfer system that can get irritated or infected. Once this happens the primary bronchi, or bronchial tubes will constrict, or become smaller. Imagine if you body needed a pipe the size of your wrist to get enough oxygen. A bronchial infection or inflammation caused by diseases such as pneumonia, etc, can constrict (make smaller) the size of the pipe from the size of your wrist to the size of your thumb. This is why it's hard to breath when you have bronchial problems. Bronchial tubes can become constricted for a variety of reasons. Asthma and other irritations that can lead to bronchial passages being obstructed can cause stenosis or narrowing of the passageways. A typical bronchial wall thickening can be caused by infection, either viral or bacterial, a diagnosed disease such as asthma, or even ongoing environmental stresses such as chemicals and smoking. Asthma bronchial treatment is usually determined by a diagnosis of the disease by a pulmonary specialist. The treatment may include inhalers or bronchial dialators that deliver medication directly to the bronchial passages. It's not uncommon for the medicines used to be steroid based like Prednisone. These steroidial treatment option can provide fast relief when the constriction becomes serious. Bronchial tubes can become constricted for a variety of reasons. One of the more common reasons is an allergic reaction to something environmental or even eaten. While Asthma bronchial symptoms are similar to other constricting type diseases. Asthma symptoms can be treated and controlled through the use of bronchial dilators, medication and control of environmental triggers. Acute bronchitis is very different however. This illness is usually associated with influenza or viral infection. The infection causes mucus to form and stenosis occurs. A bronchial virus of this type can be expected to last several days to weeks depending on the strain. It's important to visit the doctor when bronchial coughing spasms occur. This is because it's very possible to injure yourself with violent coughing spasms that can cause serious pain when trying to clear the air passageways of mucus. Remember that only your doctor can accurately diagnose asthma and bronchitis. While some illnesses can be successfully treated with antibiotics, please allow the doctor to develop an accurate diagnosis and not simply demand these drugs. In many cases they won't do you any good and can actually do more harm to your immune system.
