Is there such a thing as an actual Asthma Cure

I know what you expect to hear information regarding an asthma cure... but I tell you that this is simply snake oil salesmen selling false promises of cures.

The idea of asthma cures is pushed by those who have something to sell. Fact is, there is no scientifically proven method that can deliver an asthma cure to anyone no matter what any of the sales people want you to believe.

This means the vitamin sales people, the "natural only" crowd, aromatherapy people and the rest. There is no cure as it's a condition that cannot simply be easily cured.

That doesn't mean there isn't hope. Nor does this mean that you cannot live a full life with the illness.

Many people, once they learn to live with asthma, have been able to go on an live full and rich lives simply by making lifestyle changes that we all should actually do.

There are now very effective treatments that can adequately prevent asthmatic attacks from occurring in the first place.

These treatments are so effective that many people claim they have been cured of asthma... after being placed on the treatments.

If you call this cure for asthma, then so be it. But the truth is that there is no known asthma cure that will completely guarantee non reoccurrence of asthma- even when exposed to the triggers of asthma.

Why these asthma treatments are very effective is that the patients always take them in the right way and they listen to instructions about healthy lifestyles that will prevent triggers of asthma.

Anti-Leukotrienes -- A recently developed class of non-steroidal asthma drugs which can prevent or reduce inflammation of the airways. Anti-leukotrienes fall into one of two categories: inhibitors or antagonists (blockers.) Leukotriene inhibitors (Accolate) prevent leukotriene creation, while antagonists (Singulair) block the leukotriene receptors that mediate airway hyperreaction, mucus production and bronchoconstriction. By either preventing or getting in the way of the inflammatory reaction, anti-leukotrienes may reduce or eliminate the need for corticosteroids. They are taken orally, usually once or twice daily. Status Asthmaticus -- Extremely serious, life-threatening condition where an asthma flare is not responding to treatment. Can be fatal, often requires intubation.

Bronchi -- The lower end of the trachea divides into two bronchi (tubes) that carry air into the lungs. One bronchus goes to the left lung, the other to the right lung.
